The Gospel Coalition has recently released Volume 34 (Issue 3) of their great magazine Themlios, the “International Journal for Pastors and Students of Theological and Religious Studies”.
With contributions from people such as D.A.Carson and Wayne Grudem you know this is going to be well written, and you can either read it online or download the pdf free.

Tim Challies has released two free ebooks for men on Sexual Detox, one for single men and one for married men. These pdfs are very well written and include plenty of application questions. They really are required reading for any man struggling with sexual temptation.
The pdfs were born from a series Tim did on Sexual Detox that resulted in huge interest from both his readers and visitors at his blog. Soon the books will be available for purchase at amazon, but you can get them free now (and presumably forever!) at his website. They are about 30 pages long, but with plenty of questions to think about it will not necessarily be a quick read!

Gary Thomas has made his latest book, Pure Pleasure, available free online!
There is also plenty of other materials at Gary Thomas’ website including videos of answers to questions raised around topics the book covers. Gary Thomas is a bestselling author, some of his other works include Sacred Marriage, Sacred Parenting, Sacred Pathways and Authentic Faith. All you need to do to get Pure Pleasure free is provide your name and email and you will instantly be able to download it in pdf format.
The tagline of the book covers the overall gist of the book, “Why Do Christians Feel So Bad about Feeling Good?”. As you can see from the chapter list below, it covers both why we should not be scared about enjoying pleasures and life, but also that there are some lines that should not be crossed.
Winfield Bevans has made his book Grow availabke free as a pdf download. Simply go to the webpage for Winfield Bevans’ book and click on the ‘download’ box to get the free pdf.
The book looks at discipleship within the church setting, but not by focusing on set programmes or techniques. Rather it focuses on organic discipleship. This is not some ‘anything goes’ approach that looks down on structure, but rather a book that premises that spiritual growth is not a formula that can be repeated for ever and ever for every Christian.

There is probably not much to say about why this offering is good – it trumps all other free books provided because it is the word of God. But to give away thew whole New Testament is a great offer
Ligon Duncan and various other people have created a superb website on Matthew Henry’s book the Method of Prayer. It is a great example of how to take a book and put it in a workable format of a website. Not only is it beautifully presented, but the advantages of being web based also help. This means you can search through the book either through keywords or your own phrases. Also very usefully you can sign up for a daily email of the devotions.
Anything that can help us draw closer to God through prayer has got to be a good thing.
The Bible Study magazine are providing a free copy of John Piper’s book Finally Alive in the Logos format until the middle of September. Initially they were going to provide this just for their subscribers, but then decided to give it away to everyone! Of course you will need a copy of the Libronix Digital Library System (PC or Mac) to use this, but those of that do should act fast to make sure you don’t miss out.
