There are currently three devotions available as follows.

1. The Story of Jesus
   The Story of Jesus is a compelling, easy-to-follow presentation that is rooted in the clear, accessible language of the NIV. Revealing and insightful, this is the Jesus story in a concise, single narrative.
2. Eternal Words
   Music and Scripture that will bring joy to your heart and peace to your soul, arranged topically using the NIV.
3. Witness the Bible: Genesis to Jesus
   Walk through the Bible with your children in these action-packed, radio theatre-style dramatizations from the 1599 Geneva Bible.

To access these devotions simply go to the main devotions page and scroll to the bottom of the page to the audio section.

Baptist Bible Hour’s iPhone Daily Devotion

BBH Daily Devotion is simple free iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch application from Baptist Bible Hour, who exist to “call men and women back to the beauty and sufficiency of the Bible”. When you open up your iPhone you are presented with the devotion for that day, and you can also search for any devotion by date if you missed one. This works even when you don’t have access to the internet.

If you connected to the internet then you can also listen to recent broadcasts from BBH, or visit their website without leaving the application.

This is a great way to access the Baptist Bible Hour with minimal effort at all.

Hands up you can’t decide which daily devotional to read…

For those with your hands up Devotional Christian is the website you’ve been waiting for. It has links to some of the best known daily devotionals for last three the days. The design is simplicity itself, but it has a nice feature of giving a snippet of the devotion when you hover over any link.

As well as the traditional text devotions it also has some video devotions. Of course a website of this type is only as good as the devotionals it highlights, here are some of the ones included:

• Morning and Evening

The pdf guide is split into weeks covering the following the following areas:

It is very well written with each week firstly including a text written by Christine to reflect on. Then there is a challenge and questions to answer. This is the crux of the whole Lenten guide really, as it is this that could/should have an impact on you. It is both a mixture of actions (such as the challenge to live off $2 a day for food, or fast), and spiritual reflections (e.g. spending more time reading the bible).

I’m looking forward to going through this guide and seeing where it takes me.

However in the meantime you can look at the version that was used last year, and to be honest you could just use this as it is timeless in content. Christine says that “Each week we focused on a different aspect of the brokenness of the human condition – with activities from easy to challenging that people could participate in.”

The ESV website has a great selection of reading plans to help you read the bible in one year. Firstly all of the plans are available in several formats as follows:

• Web
• RSS (full text included)
• Email
• iCal (no text included – just the verse references)
• Mobile
• Print

I use the RSS feed as it allows me to read it easily wherever I am. The big advantage of this RSS feed over many others on the internet is that the full feed of the bible text is included. The RSS feed also allows you to subsribe to a podcast so you can listen to the bible.
