Reaching Our Cities With the Gospel 

Our Acts 29 friends Darrin Patrick, Eric Mason and Jeff Vanderstelt will join Tim Keller and other city leaders for a new micro-conference on ‘gospel eco-systems’ April 14th in Chicago.  The event, “Christ and City 2011: A Call to Renewal,” is free for ministry leaders, pastors, church planters and the general public.

Christ + City

Tim Keller will be speaking at 2pm that day on Reaching Your City With The Gospel. His ideas will then be interacted with in 4 different workshops lead by A29 and other city leaders.

  • Eric Mason - Preaching –  Preaching to exalt Christ in the city: spreading a passion for the glory of God among all peoples
  • Darrin Patrick - Church Planting - Supporting and building new gospel-centered churches for our cities.
  • Makoto Fujimura - Cultural Leadership - The implications of the gospel for art and creativity
  • Jeff Vanderstelt - Training - Equipping people for city ministry in every sphere

Pastor Tim Keller will conclude the half-day conference by addressing the topic of Generous Justice: How God’s Grace Makes Us Just from his new book.

I’m sorry posting has been a little slow recently. I’ve been having to work on my wife’s website which has taken some time.

Rest assured this is merely a one-off delay and I am still fully committed to free Christian resources. Over the coming month I am likely to cut back the posts to one every other day as I’m working on a new design for free Christian resources.

The current design is based on a free theme, but the new one is being completely hand written (by myself) to both be more functional, and more aesthetic. I’m really excited and hope it will ready in about a month.

You will probably need broadband to view it properly, but I think you’ll agree it is a pretty amazing church!

The Gospel Coalitions aim is to “invigorate churches with new hope and compelling joy based on the promises received by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone”.

This is mainly a networking tool, and it is too early to say yet just how successful it will be, however several high profile churches, people and organizations have already joined including Desiring God, Mark Driscoll, Tim Keller, Joshua Harris, C.J. Mahaney.

The difference between this and Facebook is that this is more about supporting each other and building the body of Christ than simply keeping up with your friends (or poking them!)
