Bible Gateway are now offering the audio of the New Testament of the Holman Christian Standard Bible free.
The HSBC is a popular translation and aims for both “literary precision” and “emotive clarity”, in fact they also provide a little summary of the history of the HCSB here.

G.K. Chesterton (1874 – 1936) was a prolific writer having produced about 80 books, many hundred poems, thousands of essays, and more to boot. Orthodoxy is perhaps one of his best known works, and as highlighted at the Dawn Patrol blog it is available free on mp3 (as well as other formats) at the LibriVox website.
In his youth G.K. Chesterton was very interested in the occult, but he converted to Roman Catholicism in 1922 at the age of 48. His writing style is renowned for being humorous whilst at the same time having powerful messages.
One famous submission to the Times was penned when several eminent authors were asked to write essays on “What’s Wrong with the World?” Chesterton’s wrote his as a letter and simply said:

Christian Audio have got a cracking free book available this month, The Religious Affections by Jonathan Edwards.
Richard Smolenski runs a great blog called Prudent Musings. Much of the blog is dedicated to apologetics, particularly highlighting quality free Christian resources you can get on the internet in this sphere. There is also a really good series of articles at the moment on increasing readership to your Christian blog.
