Here are 40 great sermons from a variety of preachers covering different aspects of Easter. I’m certain if you listened or read these over the forty days of Easter you would benefit a lot more than by abstaining from chocolate or coffee.
The Between Two Worlds website recently posted that Yale University had made available the whole of the famous ‘Blank Bible’ written by Jonathan Edwards. Jonathan Edwards is credited with creating the first blank bible. This was achieved by dismantling his bible adding blank sheets in between every page and then reassembling it. Then, he was free to write notes on the pages he added!
Jonathan Edward Blank Bible has been completely copied online so you don’t need to try to decipher his writing. Therefore you can easily search the text, or just select the chapter of the bible you are interested in (which is perhaps the most obvious use). Effectively this is Jonathan Edwards commentary on the bible, which should be a real treat to read through.

Whilst many of us will be unable to get to church on Christmas Day either because our church doesn’t have a service, or because we’re busy in the kitchen preparing a feast, this doesn’t mean we don’t get to hear a great Christmas sermon!
The Jonathan Edwards Center
main website
The Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale have launched a new website including no less than seventy three volumes Jonathan Edwards’ work. As well as the large volume of books and sermons there is a very thorough and well split out biography and a frequently asked questions section that will fill you in on any Jonathan Edwards background you need to know!
There were less posts than normal this month as I launched another (mini) blog and have also been busy with searching for new houses as we are looking to move. However, there were still some cracking free Christian things available…
Here is the pick of the bunch:
- Free Jonathan Edwards audio book – Religious affections
If you’re very quick you can still get this free classic audiobook . - Free Christian images and clip art
I reviewed Christian’s Unite which has some great free Christian images available for use on your website. - Free Desperation Band music mp3
I highlighted that “Counting on God” was now available free for download, this is a really good song and you can get the mp3 free! - Free Don Moen music
Don Moen also had a free song available, and this has been a well read post so he must be popular!
Christian Audio have got a cracking free book available this month, The Religious Affections by Jonathan Edwards. At 15.2 hours it is a meaty book and covers questions such as:
- What is the nature of true religion?
- What are the signs of a true revival?
- How is the heart changed?
This book managed to average 5/5 on Amazon which is no mean feat, and has been spiritually nourishing to thousands upon thousands of people since it has been written. I am just about to download it and get ready for a lot of Jonathan Edwards on my trip to work!
David Brainerd brought the gospel to remote Indians, and the blurb for this book claims:
This book offers not only a captivating story, but an uplifting buoy for those who are weary, distant, or discouraged. It is an encouragement to all Christians to remain true to their calling through joyful times and discouragement
