The Practice of the Presence of God 
Recently I mentioned that Sovereign Grace Ministries had made all of their sermons free. Now their worship music blog Worship Matters has produced a really useful post highlighting the top twenty mp3 sermons relevant to Christian musicians.
I’m no musician, but the choice of sermons is superb and covers areas such as leadership, theology and songwriting amongst others. It is a good mix of practical, spiritual and theological areas. The preachers include Stuart Townsend, Mark Altrogge and Josh Harris.

Quality music with a little extra thrown in for free!
Also, for all the albums (that I looked at) you can download a pdf of the words and sheet music/chords. This is even for those songs that are not free. Rather than cluttering up this review with a full list, I will be adding a stand alone page for this in the future.
How do I get the free songs then?
- Sign up to the website
- You will notice a ‘featured free song’ box at the top, so you could start by looking at that
- The rest are slightly less obvious, basically though any songs in mp3 format are the ones they are offering for free. So you just need to find those songs…
- Thankfully they have mp3 in the name so simply go to the search box and look for “mp3″
- And there you go! A list of all of the current free songs you can get! Just go to the individual pages to get the mp3 songs (you may need to right click and “save link as”)
You can also sign up to an email list to be notified of any future free ones, or you can just check out the free songs category of this blog and I will post it there.
What else is there?
A really nice touch on this site is that there are some additional articles written by worship leaders on the site. These are not all articles just for people in worship bands though. It covers topics such as:

- Global Vision
- Practical Training(practical worship help)
- Vertical Vision (about worship music, including AW Tozer’s ‘The Art of True Worship’)

Third Day are a great Christian rock band, and also very generous to boot. Third Day radio is held on their website and allows you to play all thirteen of their albums on your computer. It also has a preview of their upcoming album. Even if you own all of their stuff it is worth a look as it has an album that was only ever released on tape (remember them!) as well as other unreleased stuff.
If you’ve never heard them before head for the Offerings album which is a fantastic worship album. No flutes or pan pipes in sight! I’m guessing they hope that by letting you listen for free you will go on to buy the albums so you can listen to them on you ipod or cd player. I think its a great tactic and I’m sure I’ll be getting more of their albums myself.
Oh yes… also there is no annoying presenter (apart from at the beginning) just 100% music! If you have broadband -bookmark this link!
Summary
This is a generous gift from Third Day, and well worth using.
