YouTube is the best known video sharing website on the internet. It has moved well beyond simply hosting amatuer videos now though, and many churches use YouTube to spread the message of the gospel.
The free Christian resources YouTube profile highlights the best sermons, talks and music on YouTube for Christians. From Desiring God Ministries to Hillsong United there is some fantastic content being added. You can see a list of some recent vidoes added at the bottom of this page.
Here is a selected video from the free Christian resources selection on YouTube, you can choose more by visiting YouTube, or choosing the options available in the box below.
The Worship Matters blog highlighted some training/discussion videos for musicians who are part of a church band.
It is headed up by Zach Nielsen and covers topics including:
- Listening to As You Play
- How to Play a Chord Chart
- Leading in Rehearsal
As the Worship Matters blog states the qualtiy of video is not amazing but the actual discussion is well worth listening to. You can see the videos here, and as they are hosted on YouTube you can share them freely. One of the clips is shown below:
Desiring God have released the short film that they have produced for the conference “James 3: A story”. It is just over 5 minutes long and if you have a family and a spare five minutes you should watch it. I found it challenging even before the ending. It is free to be distributed, and you can watch it here:
You can also access the YouTube version or ipod version through the podcast.
The Stand to Reason blog recently highlighted three free videos explaining the existence of God from Jim Wallace at ‘Please Convince Me’. These are good quality videos and can be used on your website or any talk/study you may be doing.
If you visit the Please Convince me website you can view the videos via YouTube, or even download them and use them yourself to spread the gospel. Here is the first video:
There is also a pdf version of the video talk and also a pdf training manual that can be used with the videos.
The Don’t Waste Your Life website/blog from Desiring God has recently been given an uplift. It is targeted to younger people (in their 20s) but would appeal to other people too. The inspiration for the site has come from John Piper’s book of the same name. You can read this well received and challenging book free online at the Desiring God website.
A key part of the blog is the video podcasts, which are published on the website, YouTube and itunes. This includes interviews, and mini-sermons from John Piper. They are 1-3 minute videos that combine images and gospel in a way that magnifies Christ and motivates you to not waste your life. New episodes are posted every 1 or 2 weeks. Recently there was a three part interview with the band Mainstay, and you can see the first one below:
You can also join the facebook group which is very active if you are so inclined. It would be great if there were more blog posts on the website, but it seems to be more set up to support the distribution of the free videos. This is not a bad thing though and if you have a spare few minutes it is worth watching a couple, especially if you feel you are wasting your life…

Why not check out the popular Definitive guide to Christian clip art by clicking here…
ChristrianCliparts.Net is a fantastic little website. There are just over 100 clip art pictures and also five videos currently (all of which are in a cartoon format). The fact that they are in the same format is good if you are looking for a similar style or look for whatever medium you are using them for. This also helped by the fact the images are produced to a very high quality and are also very distinctive and different from most of the other Christian clip-art available on the internet.
Clip art
All of the images are in the same style, and all cover key parts of the new testament (e.g. The Empty Tomb, I am the way, Peter disowned Jesus). You can see the style of images below (click on them to get the full sized image).

Videos
There are five videos including “Did Jesus really rise from the dead?” and “The Power of Prayer”.
The videos are cartoons, and like the clip art they are very well produced. They take a little time to load depending on your internet set-up but once they have loaded they are very smooth.
Other content
There is also a little memory game and quiz about the apostles. It is a fun and slickly presented quiz and probably aimed at kids around age of ten.
Presentation and usage
It is easy to browse the site, and quick too apart from loading the videos. There is also a keyword search which is handy if you are after a specific character or story.
Summary
The only thing that would improve this website would be more images and clip-art. However the images that are here are of a superb quality. The images would be particularly suited to any kind of youth work.
