Starting this Wednesday, the 25th February (Ash Wednesday) Bible Gateway are starting a Lent bible reading plan of the four Gospels in 40 days. It sounds a lot but it is just 2-3 chapters a day, with a bit more on Sundays.
You can sign up to the Bible Gateway Lent bible reading plan via RSS, iCal, email or simply by visiting the Bible Gateway website.
Good quality Easter pictures are tricky to find as they are not so clearly defined as Christmas themes. If you don’t want to have an Easter picture of an egg, chick or bunny what do you do?
To make it easier for you I’ve found nine fantastic free Easter pictures, some of which are photos and some clip art. The pictures are grouped into some of the key themes of Easter. All of the Easter pictures can be used or no cost, but please check the exact terms of use (most require attribution and non-commercial use). Also for high resolution pictures visit the original links for each of the Easter pictures.

Finding high quality free Easter cards is a challenge to say the least. If you want to send a card with East eggs or bunnies on it, then you are in luck. Otherwise, you may struggle to find something good. Hopefully by collecting these websites here it will save you some time scouring the internet. It is grouped into eCard websites and printable card websites.

Here are 40 great sermons from a variety of preachers covering different aspects of Easter. I’m certain if you listened or read these over the forty days of Easter you would benefit a lot more than by abstaining from chocolate or coffee.

Where can you find the best free Easter devotional messages? In our bibles of course! Before reading any other texts on Easter it is good to start any devotion time by reading bible verses about Easter (or least reading bible verses on what we now call Easter).

Easter is coming!
A new page has been added to free Christian resources to show the main free Christian easter resources available at the moment. This will cover everything from clip art, music, devotions, children/youth stuff, and much more.
We recently posted on the Lenten guide that Christine Sine produced for last year. She has now updated the Easter guide for this year, and will be adding to it over the coming weeks.
The pdf guide is split into weeks covering the following the following areas:
- First Week of Lent: Journey into the Brokenness of Our Inner Selves
- Second Week of Lent: Journey into the Brokenness of Hunger
- Third Week of Lent: Journey into the Brokenness of Homelessness
- Fourth Week of Lent: Journey into the Brokenness of Creation
- Fifth Week of Lent: Journey into the Brokenness of God’s Family
- Holy Week: Journey from Palm Sunday to the Cross
Christine Sine at GodSpace is currently writing an update to her guide on participating in Lent in a meaningful way. If giving up chocolate is as far as you normally go, then this would be a fantastic challenge.
However in the meantime you can look at the version that was used last year, and to be honest you could just use this as it is timeless in content. Christine says that “Each week we focused on a different aspect of the brokenness of the human condition – with activities from easy to challenging that people could participate in.”

As a break from my normal posting routine here is a YouTube video based on still pictures of the Passion of Christ. It is very thought provoking and makes you top and take in the scriptures.
Thank you Jesus…
