Lambert’s Quotes – recently stumbled upon

A new feature of this site is going to be to pick the best of those sites I have recently stumbled upon and do a mini-review.

First up is Lambert’s Favorite Quotes. Lambert Dolphin is a retired physicist from California, and he has accumulated some of his favourite (mainly) Christian quotes on this page of his website. He also has plenty of bible study material available which I have not had time to review.

There are some profound quotes

It includes quotes from a variety of Christians including CS Lewis, AW Tozer, Oswald Chambers and even rather surprisingly Margaret Thatcher! There is a really good mixture of quotes with some long and some short. Yes, even Maggie’s is good for those doubting New-Labour fans (if there is such a group these days). There are some really profound quotes, so why not check out Lambert’s website.

Here are a couple of the shorter quotes,

On Self Love

“The labor of self-love is a heavy one indeed. Think of yourself whether much of your sorrow has not arisen from someone speaking slightingly of you. As long as you set yourself up as as a little god to which you must be loyal there will be those who will delight to offer affront to your idol. How then can you hope to have inward peace? The heart’s fierce effort to protect itself from every slight, to shield its touchy honor from the bad opinion of friend and enemy. will never let the mind have rest.” (A.W. Tozer)

This World is Not My Home

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probably explanation is that I was made for another world.” (C.S. Lewis)
